Kepler Challenge 2018

17.8.2018

Hiking Ben Lomond 1

Mountain runners, get ready!

Since its debut in 1988, the Kepler challenge has become New Zealand’s most iconic mountain run. On the first Saturday in December every year, hundreds of competitors and spectators flock the town of Te Anau, located just 2 short hours from Queenstown, in order to experience one of New Zealand’s great walks like never before.

The 60km race loop consists some of the most diverse terrain one can experience - pushing even the best of athletes to the limit. The sheer beauty of the landscape will have you short of breath regardless if you are running or not.

The drive alongside Lake Wakatipu between Te Anau and Queenstown is one of the worlds most beautiful routes, providing the most incredible turquoise waters and views of the alps.

With the race spots in high demand and already full, the comforts of Queenstown are just what you’ll need to recover. Make sure to book your post-race Luxury Accommodation with Staysouth now and spend the weekend in Queenstown, to relax and rejuvenate.
