From the start of June to early October Queenstown welcomes an influx of travellers all in search for the famous powder our 5 ski resorts have become so well known for.

The commencement of ski season sees snow enthusiasts of all levels heading straight for the slopes, with the local fields providing plenty of terrain for all abilities. We have put together a ski field breakdown to help you in deciding which is best suited for you:

Treble Cone

10% Beginner 45% Intermediate 45% Advanced

With a whopping 550 hectares of rideable terrain, Treble Cone is the largest ski field in New Zealand and offers more intermediate and advanced terrain than any other local field. Known for its long runs and powder the off-piste skiing and boarding is truly unrivalled.

Cardrona

25% Beginner 50% Intermediate 25% Advanced

1-hour drive from Queenstown Cardrona’s large wide open runs make it the ideal place to learn as well as a fun playground for experienced snow enthusiasts. Cardrona is host to several oversized bowls and 6 parks, perfect terrain for those wanting to hone their freestyle skills.

 

The Remarkables

30% Beginner 40% Intermediate 30% Advanced

30 minutes from Queenstown the Remarkables is a must visit for great freestyle park terrain, home to wide open bowls and 3 terrain parks, a favourite for the experienced ski and boarders.

 

Coronet Peak

25% Beginner 45% Intermediate 30% Advanced

A short 20-minute drive from Queenstown, Coronet is the closest ski field.

Coronet Peak is the only ski field in New Zealand to offer night skiing, open Friday & Saturday 6 – 9pm. Advanced skiers can look forward to rolling slopes, steeps and some off-piste adventures on the fringes

 

Snow Farm NZ

Set high on the picturesque Pisa Range with 55km of scenic trails, Snow Farm NZ is the place to be for cross country skiing. Alongside the trails you will find the Snow Fun Zone which offers snow tubes and sledging for the kids, making it suitable for the whole family.
