Queenstown School Holidays in Winter
The school holidays are almost upon us and we’re gearing up for what’s going to be a busy time in the middle of Queenstown’s winter season.
Queenstown mountains have had a top of fresh snow over the past week and with the help of snow-making, conditions at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables are better than ever for you to hit the slopes for epic skiing and snowboarding with the family.
Accessing daily snow reports is easy – you can even see snowmaking conditions at Coronet Peak, Queenstown’s premier ski area.
The ski fields have some great school holiday programmes, like the Kruiser Squad. This programme is aimed at kids aged five and up with some skiing or snowboarding experience – it’s a full-day programme with an emphasis on learning and includes lunch. You can wave goodbye to the kids for either three or five days, while mums and dads have time to relax and enjoy themselves.
And don’t forget, kids aged 10 and under get free lift passes at The Remarkables and kids six and under get free lift passes at Coronet Peak.
If you’re looking for something to do off the mountain, there’s the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival that takes place in Queenstown on July 13 and 14. Plenty of snow and adventure-themed films for you to get inspired.
Queenstown also runs some great off-piste activities for kids aged five to 12 through the Lakes Leisure school holiday programme.
Spacious luxury apartments are filling up fast for families here to experience a magical school holiday in Queenstown’s alpine environment.
