Nestled into the hillside overlooking the crystal waters of Lake Wakatipu and the magnificent Southern Alps that hug its shores, sit these spectacular alpine-style villas.

These wonderfully luxurious and spacious villas are the very essence of style and taste, offering privacy and peace, yet just a short distance to the heart of downtown Queenstown's vibrant dining and entertainment scene. The exclusive Commonage Villas offer sweeping panoramic lake and mountain views over Queenstown's town centre. Balconies, terraces and huge windows make the very most of the inspiring surroundings and the stunning decor exudes opulence and style. Ideal for families or groups of couples travelling together, these spacious penthouse style villas feature all the luxuries and comfort of home but with views you cannot find anywhere else in the world.

All our Commonage Villas have 3 bedrooms each with their own beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom. Depending on the season, several can be booked as a 1-bed or 2-bed option and some even as a 4-bedroom villa (maximum 9 guests with additional bedding, and available upon request). Large open plan living, dining and kitchen areas are perfect for entertaining while schist stone gas fireplaces and underfloor heating keep the temperatures comfortable all year round.

There are two villa types available each with the same layout but varying in size. The larger of the two, the Grand Promenade Villa spans 321 square meters while the Promenade Villa offers all the same luxury in a more intimate setting spanning 258 square meters.

Promenade and Grand Promenade

Whilst both options offer the same stunning location and the outstanding vistas Queenstown is synonymous with, as the name suggests, the Grand Promenade options are larger in general but most noticeably in the living, dining and bedroom areas.

The more defined lounge, dining and kitchen areas within the Grand Promenade options make them the ideal option for larger families. This vast, open-plan space allows those interested in preparing a feast in the entertainer’s kitchen the option to do whilst the rest of the group can relax at their leisure, either in front of the roaring fireplace or alfresco style on the lake and mountain facing balcony.

The Promenade Villas have a slightly more intimate design than the Grand Promenade Villas but retain all the luxury and refinement for which the Commonage is renowned.

The Master Bedroom

The main focal point for many, each villa features a spacious master suite complete with an en-suite bathroom. Situated independently on the top floor of each villa and therefore ensuring a certain degree of privacy, the master undoubtedly offers the best view in the house. 

The Living Area

The lounge areas exude sophistication and comfort. Each is elegantly designed, featuring state of the art Smart Television system including Sky TV and Netflix functionality as well as full surround sound. When you’re not out and about enjoying the great outdoors Queenstown is famous for, you can be safe in the knowledge that an afternoon in front of the fire in your luxury space is the perfect alternative.

Entertainer’s Kitchen

Spacious and well equipped, the large kitchen available in all of our luxurious villas make them a self-catering delight. Entertain and host your entire group yourself or hire the expertise of a private chef and have them prepare and serve some of the finest local delicacies in the comfort of your home away from home.

Situated in the affluent suburb of Queenstown Hill perched high above the Queenstown Township, the Commonage Villas are only stone’s throw away from all of Queenstown’s major attractions.

The Commonage Villa's elevated position offers magnificent and unparalleled views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding Southern Alps. You will be overwhelmed with a sense of majesty as you sit in front of your fireplace or on the expansive balcony and absorb the stunning views on show.

Take just a short fifteen-minute downhill stroll and enter the heart of Queenstown’s vibrant dining and entertainment scene.

In the immediate vicinity and directly around the corner from The Commonage Villas, you will find the start of the Queenstown Hill Walking Track, a 2-hour return hiking trail offering a further elevated view of the entire region.

The View

Overlooking the Queenstown township, the view from The Commonage Villas is beyond exceptional. Whilst the town itself is in the immediate foreground, the natural beauty of Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand’s third-largest lake, and the rugged snow-capped Southern Alps fill the background. 1. How far is the apartment away from the town centre?
     Approximately 10-15 minutes walk via Kerry Drive, Hallenstein & Ballarat Streets
 
2. Do I need to drive/take a taxi to go to town?
     Time spent looking for a parking space may take longer than the walk which is around 10 minutes (all downhill). A taxi journey back up to The Commonage Villas is likely to take no longer than 5 minutes. 
 
3. Is there free parking at the property? (Please ask for height/width dimensions before hiring a vehicle)
     There is one free parking garage included with your booking. On-street parking is required for extra vehicles (subject to availability)
 
4. Does my apartment have lake and mountain views?
     It has spectacular lake and mountain views
 
5. Are there laundry facilities at the property?
     Yes, a washing machine and clothes dryer are included, located adjacent to the main living area
 
6. Is there a fire in my apartment? What other heating does it have?
     Yes, there is a gas fire and electric heat pump, both located in the living room. There is also under-tile heating and heated towel rails.
 
7. Is there air conditioning in my apartment?
     There is the electric heat pump/air conditioning unit in the living room
 
8. Where can I buy groceries and alcohol?
     Alpine Supermarket and Henry’s on Shotover Street are closest, followed by Fresh Choice on Gorge Road and Raeward Fresh on Robins Road
 
9. Can I access Netflix or SKY in my apartment?
     SKY TV is included for free. If you have a NETFLIX a/c, access is available but not included

10. Is Wi-Fi available at the property?
     Yes, free and unlimited Wi-Fi is included
 
11. What is the occupancy policy for this property?
     7 guests maximum can be accommodated (utilising rollaway bed at an additional cost). *Ask about our 4 bedroom villas – up to 9 guests can be accommodated utilising a rollaway bed
 
12. What is the age/child policy for this property?
     Any guest making a booking must be over 25 years of age and all/any guests not accompanied by a parent or guardian must also be over 25 years of age. Children under 3 years of age stay for free using existing bedding
 
13. What is the bed configuration for this property?
     3 x king double splittable beds (one can be made up as 2 single beds on request) Variation in the 4 bedroom villas – please ask
 
14. Is there a BBQ available at this property?
