Sonya commenced with Staysouth in 2008, oversees all facets of the company and is extremely well connected in the local marketplace. Originally from South Africa Sonya has lived in Queenstown for 25+ years and has an extensive background in tourism.
Mel is very hands-on and oversees all aspects of daily operations including stepping in to helm the ship when Sonya is on one of her many coastal expeditions - Mel is also known as the company energiser bunny. Queenstown born and bred Mel has worked in the tourism industry since her teen years.
Andy's primary roles within the company are Sales,Marketing, Business Development and the facilitation of Visitor Accommodation Resource Consents. Andy has been a Queenstown local for 30 years and is a committed outdoor enthusiast - works as a senior heli-ski guide in the winter for Harris Mountains Heliski, and has a background in Visitor Accommodation, Real Estate, Tourism marketing and Film Production.
Marianne's focus is reservations and guest services, but she is a word-smith at heart. Marianne has worked in the accommodation and tourism sector for as long as she can remember and has lived in Queenstown for circa 30 years.
Euan’s multifaceted role sees him cover reservations, general administration and light marketing duties. Euan joins us after 5 years in the hotel industry, the most recent of which as the Head Concierge of a highly regarded Queenstown Hotel.
Leony looks after financial reporting, accounts, payroll and human resources administration. Originally from Indonesia, Queenstown has been her home for 6 years and counting. Formerly working for larger accounting firms, Leony is pleased to join Staysouth, loving the business dynamic and its challenges.
Jan provides systems support to the team at Staysouth with his main focus on reservations backend, systems development and implementation. Originally from Denmark, Jan brings vast international experience managing, designing and implementing IT systems for large companies and has been living in Queenstown for the past 10 years.
Originally hailing from Ireland Elaine moved to Queenstown in 2016. Since then she has immersed herself in the local culture, now playing for local sports teams in her spare time. As Staysouth's Operations Co-Ordinator Elaine oversees a range of departments including Housekeeping, Maintenance & Recruitment to ensure the smooth running of the operational side of the business.
