Springtime in the mountains is magnificent any year and in 2018, the spring highlight in Queenstown is likely to be the International Jazz Festival taking place between October 19 - 22nd.
Over the long weekend, Queenstown will pulse to the strains of jazz, funk and blues music as the alpine resort welcomes musicians from around the world.
The Nanny Assis Band opens the Queenstown JazzFest with an entertaining mix of jazz and Brazilian rhythm. Performing an eclectic repertoire of songs that are both romantic and upbeat, with a bit of New York style – from Bossa Nova, Jobim, Gilberto, Dave Brubeck, Stevie Wonder to Ella Fitzgerald.
Kiwi legends Rhombus headline Saturday night's beats concert alongside Auckland alt. chart toppers SoccerPractise and P Digsss - Peacekeeper (MC/DJ set). Rhombus are one of New Zealand's pioneering dub/d'n'b/roots outfits known for their big rolling sound and lively stage show.
Other artists include blues and Jazz stars, Paul Ubana Jones, Edwina Thorne Quartet, Brekky Boy, Stevie Rice Band, Alpine Funk Line, Reset Band and the Nairobi Trio.
