While the temperatures continue to drop and the snow accumulates on-piste, here's a quick run-through of "What’s On" this winter in Queenstown.  


Remarkables Winter Market

Swing by Remarkables Park and dive into a plethora of food trucks, kids’ entertainment, and live music. Free parking is available on-site.

Matariki Arrowtown Lights

Matariki Arrowtown Lights is a one-day cultural event showcasing a stunning display of light and storytelling in the heart of Arrowtown (known by tāngata whenua as Kā-Muriwai).

SkyCity Stampede (Ice Hockey)

Needing a dose and live and action-packed sport? SkyCity Stampede, Queenstown’s premier Ice Hockey team, compete in the NZ Ice Hockey League with 6x home fixtures this winter season. Wrap up warm and grab your tickets via the links below.

Winter Pride

Winter Pride is the largest winter pride festival in the southern hemisphere – a festival in a small town with a bold heart, celebrating love, community, diversity, visibility, safety and inclusion. It is a festival that encourages locals and visitors alike to come together and celebrate their diversity.

With events on-slope through the day and in Queenstown’s bars and restaurants in the evenings, all sandwiched between their Après Ski offerings, there’s something for everyone!

Winter Games

Winter Games NZ is the biggest snow sports event in the Southern Hemisphere. From high-octane alpine ski racing to thrilling freeski and snowboard park and pipe events to adrenaline-inducing freeride events.

Snow Machine


Four days of music, snow and après adventure awaits! Ski The Remarkables & Coronet Peak by day, tabletop dancing en-piste to your favourite DJs at our mountain stages, before continuing the party at our main arena by night. Snow Machine is your ultimate ski trip and music festival in one!

Peak to Peak

The Peak to Peak is an iconic multisport race that takes individuals, tandems and relay teams on a magnificent tour of Queenstown. Five stages link the town's two main ski areas, The Remarkables and Coronet Peak, with a visit to Queenstown Beach along the way. Competitors and supporters are treated to scenic views throughout to create a memorable day of fun in the adventure capital of New Zealand.
