No matter your skill or fitness level our local slopes have plenty of terrain for all abilities. If you consider yourself a bit of a snow sport pro-athlete we also have great Heli skiing conditions with our local operator’s privy to a multitude of surrounding mountain ranges.
We have created a breakdown of our 3 local ski fields so you can pick the right terrain for your ability right of the bat:
25% Beginner 45% Intermediate 30% Advanced
A short 20-minute drive from Queenstown, Coronet is the closest ski field.
Coronet Peak is the only ski field in New Zealand to offer night skiing, open Friday & Saturday 6 – 9pm and the newly introduced Wednesday night skiing available during July only. Advanced skiers can look forward to rolling slopes, steeps and some off-piste adventures on the fringes

1-hour drive from Queenstown Cardrona is the largest of the 3 fields. Its wide-open runs make it the ideal place to learn as well as a fun playground for experienced snow enthusiasts. Cardrona is host to several oversized bowls and 6 parks, perfect terrain for those wanting to hone their freestyle skills.
30% Beginner 40% Intermediate 30% Advanced
30 minutes from Queenstown the Remarkables is a must visit for great freestyle park terrain, home to wide open bowls and 3 terrain parks, a favourite for the experienced ski and boarders.
