How about just booking that flight for a quick spring fling with Queenstown’s ski areas? Time is running out on the 2018 season and with recent fresh snow, the skiing and riding is epic right now.
Heli-skiing is in full swing and the commercial ski fields quiet and friendly. No queues mean more runs and when your legs fail, the ice bars high on Coronet Peak and The Remarkables have really upped the game this year with superb Pinot Noir based mulled wine, beers and bbq snacks. Bean bags in the sun, bratwurst and beer in hand, looking out over the majestic Southern Alps – it’s hard to beat and it’s available for just a few more short weeks.
Downtown the town’s atmosphere is laid back and relaxed at this time of year. The bars and restaurants are unfurling for spring with outside tables and chairs appearing on the sidewalks and pedestrian streets and garden bars opening.
The Commonage Villas make a perfect base for a ski holiday. With underfloor heating throughout and a toasty gas fireplace your stay is sure to be a warm one. Situated on Queenstown Hill, our guests enjoy uninterrupted lake and mountain views. Internally accessed garaging, places to store and dry skis and wet stuff make it all pretty easy. Chef kitchens make self-catering fun and there’s a villa size to suit pretty much every couple, group or family.
And all of us at Staysouth are diehard skiers and snowboarders - local people who know and love our mountains and can point you in the direction of a great ski day out. Checkout our great range of ski accommodation here.
