Adrenaline Rush – Queenstown at full speed
Queenstown has become known as the adventure capital of New Zealand, and rightly so. Here we think the best and only way to do things is at full speed! We have put together a list of some of our favourite adrenaline pumping activities:
Bungy Jumping
Queenstown is home to the Bungy, so why not throw yourself head first (or otherwise) off one of our 3 platforms. Ranging from the AJ Hackett Original 43m high bridge for those Bungy virgins, to the highest Bungy jump in New Zealand standing a whopping 134m above the Nevis River, Queenstown has you covered.
Mountain Biking
We are lucky enough to house New Zealand’s first ever Gondola assisted bike lift. Skyline Queenstown gives you direct access to the Queenstown Bike Park without even having to do the hard part! Simply catch the Gondola up with bike in tow and ride down one of the 27 world class trails of varying terrain in amongst the pine trees of the Ben Lomond Reserve.
Canyoning
If you aren’t familiar with ‘canyoning’ it is like all adventure activities rolled into one, but done in water! Enter natures waterpark and jump into clear isolated pools, slide down waterfalls, abseil down rock faces and zip line across canyons all in beautiful tucked away places usually inaccessible to the public.
Jet Boating
With 5 jet boating companies to choose from, this is an activity sure to please the whole family. Take an adrenaline pumping ride as you weave through the narrow rocky canyons of the Shotover river. Experience the thrill of high speed as you skim across inches of water, or take a scenic ride down to Glenorchy or along Lake Wakatipu down to the mighty Kawarau River. In Queenstown you can choose from a number of world famous jet boat operators to pick the best ride for your desires.
Rafting
Queenstown Rafting offer a selection of experiences from half day to full day, and beginners to advanced suitable for all skill (and adrenaline) levels. Start the day with an unforgettable ride into the depths of the Skippers Canyon, home to the most dangerous road in New Zealand! The ride starts of easy as you glide along the crystal clear glacial waters as you head to the rapids lower in the canyon. Queenstown Rafting also offer some of the most creative rapid names the “Aftershock”, the “Squeeze”, the “Toilet”, the “Pinball”, “Jaws” and the “Oh Sh*t”, we will stop there.
