Queenstown and Arrowtown, although small, definitely know a thing or two about how to pull off a great café giving the big cities a run for their money. To list all of our favourite spots for a lazy brunch would be a little too excessive, so we have narrowed it down to our top 5 cafes

Vudu

16 Rees Street, Queenstown

Located on the waterfront this is one of the locals favourite coffee spots. With a focus on fresh locally sourced organic produce, Vudu boasts one of the most impressive cabinet spreads in Queenstown, including delicious guilt free raw sweet treats.

Bespoke

9 Isle Street, Queenstown

Sister to Vudu, Bespoke will not disappoint with its delicious raw healthy food and breath-taking views. Nestled into the hills with a view over the Remarkables, this café has only been open since June and has already claimed the title ‘New Zealand Café of the Year’ it’s a must visit for the foodies.

Boat Shed Café

847 Frankton Road, Frankton, Queenstown

Set in the restored, historic New Zealand Railways Shipping Office which has been relocated to its current lakefront spot, the Boat Shed is the perfect spot to set in for a long lazy Sunday brunch as you overlook Lake Wakatipu and Remarkables mountain range.

The Chop Shop

Arrow Lane, Arrowtown

Filled with quirky vintage furniture this café is a hard one to find tucked away in Arrow Lane but is a rewarding find for those that veer of the main street. The menu focuses on clean fresh and healthy food with a bit of and Asian twist. Like many of the regions cafes, The Chop Shop sources local produce designing the menu around what is in season, and what’s more they update the menu every couple of days, keeping the locals on their toes.

Provisions

65 Buckingham Street, Arrowtown

Set in a quaint miner’s cottage, Provisions is the place to go if you are a fan of preserves. While they offer delicious traditional food which can be enjoyed in the outdoor garden seating, the jams and chutneys alike are where they really shine.
